Making to Clothe Them

Genesis 3:21

And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.

What is it that causes us to hide from God? Or at least from God as the distinctly holy One. Yes, some do posture that they are good enough, deserving enough, bold enough to face up to their god image but that is not the Supreme One who made us in His image, gave us everything needful for fulfillment in Him and relationship with each other AND gave us the ability to choose.

God is the Equipper God. Notice that in spite of man’s violation of God’s wisdom of what would be best for mankind, God is readily available to begin the restorative process. Man is most conscious of the least important element, the ‘knowing’ they were naked. Hey, they were created that way, pronounced ‘good’ in that state yet with ‘opened’ eyes they became preoccupied with the external rather than the God-relational. Even with their attempt to hide their awareness of knowledge out of context, covered, they still felt the need to hide from God.

Then God enters in. He knows and begins His response to the need, talks to them about the consequences and even goes as far as to sacrifice animals to cover their nakedness.

How far are you willing to go to hide from God and what is He willing to do to restore relationship with you, if you are willing? Are you willing to accept His restoration?
