Singularity. One-of-the-kind. Unique. Distinctive.
In Deuteronomy, the second giving of the Law, provides more narrative than the original giving back in Exodus. While the first giving was full, the narrative gives this more of a sense of completeness, more depth and understanding.
‘Know’ and ‘lay it to heart’—were you aware that young Israelite males were expected to not only ‘read’ the first five books, the Torah or Pentateuch, of the Old Testament but to memorize and be able to recite with understanding by the age of thirteen.
Then the distinctions:
Singular in being God, singular both in heaven and earth, and there is no other. No one comparable even though some would aspire to exalt themselves as gods in their own sight. While Satan aspired to elevate himself to godness, he had no such ability or authority. Except in the eyes of those who likewise thought they could exalt themselves.
The Lᴏʀᴅ you choose to serve in the covenant relationship is singularly God. And He desires you in relationship with Him. Forever.
