Sanctified

Leviticus 20:26

You shall be holy to me, for I the LORD am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.

Leviticus has some pleasant little glimpses into the desires of God for you. In the midst of what you may find as mind-numbing observations on health, society and more, there is today’s verse with four key points:

1. You shall be holy to God
2. The Lᴏʀᴅ is holy
3. The Lᴏʀᴅ has separated you from those not in distinctiveness
4. You are to be His

‘Separated’ is both a from and to action as you are separated ‘from’ those not in covenant with God and ‘to’ in being mine in relationship with God. Yes, this is tucked in the midst of verses talking about common vs. distinctive and that is a very good place as it reminds you that you are to be set apart, distinctive, dedicated to relationship with God in the midst of the commonality of life.

Take a moment or more to thank God for desiring you in sanctified relationship with Him. Forevermore.
