Traits Driving Cultures

For most of us, Perspective is based in what we have either experienced, what we believe based in what we have learned from those around us or what those who have left us their perspective of the past have convinced us is true. Our perception of Truth and Reality is largely formed from the perspective we have of what has gone before and what we believe is accurate in that perspective. Seldom do we live with a perception we know to be untrue yet we usually do not examine the accuracy of our perspective.

The articles included here are a sample of history which may not be part of the current consciousness of the society or culture in which we live. They are the basis for Cowsbell’s perception but you will want to question the validity of the sources. Wherever possible the source will be footnoted and will be your starting point for determining the accuracy of the point being made.

You will find that common collective perception of the past is not always accurate simply because of the years transpired since the original event and the difficulties in recording the events. We begin with the transmission of History – oral, visual, written – just to be reminded that transmission is not always accurate, that it may involve either a bias or interpretation through the recorder or receiver.

The following articles are perspectives on how cultures influenced what is and what that may mean to world views.
