Then God said, “Let us make man in our image… So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Talking about a great beginning—imagine beginning ‘in the image of God’! Doesn’t get any better than that. No, we are not infinite, nor are we without beginning, but we are given such promise, such possibilities, such potential. Yes, both ‘male’ and ‘female’ in the image of God.
Why would God invest such possibilities into us? One of the ‘up-front’ things we see is that God acts in relationship with God. “Us” is plural for a reason. The word “God” has less distinctiveness in English but in the original language (Hebrew) it is ‘ĕlōhîm, a plural noun. Also, notice that this God always acts in unison, always in agreement, always true to Themselves.
Today, think about living up to the image of God that He created in you. Remember, it’s about His image and not what you envision for yourself. Desire His image lived out in you. Have a day true to Him.
