Authentic, one-of-a-kind, unique, distinctive, separate for all else. Or, as God says,
God is speaking to Israel through the prophet Isaiah and prefaces His comments with the chosen-ness of Israel to be God’s witnesses, His servants (for His purposes), that He intends for them to know Him, believe Him and understand that He is who He says He is. Not only are they to be His people but He continues spelling out that He is unique, one-of-a-kind, unlike anything created or that will come into being.
Remember, this is in the heart of the Old Testament when the Lᴏʀᴅ says, “I am the Lᴏʀᴅ, and besides me there is no savior.” The declaration by God that He is the singular Savior flows in the completeness of ‘I declared and saved and proclaimed’ which carry the meaning of ‘I manifested, put in front of, opened wide the way and enabled fulfillment’ as the Savior. The Lᴏʀᴅ provided all we needed to be His, to have Him as our Savior before we began to create our own gods ‘when there was no strange god among you’.
God’s decisiveness in declaring His unique ability to be Lᴏʀᴅ is unmatched in any other. And that as Lᴏʀᴅ, He will accept no other means of approach to Himself but His way. Rather decisive, exact and distinct, His Way. Only.
