All In

2 Chronicles 31:20-21

Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lᴏʀᴅ his God. And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.

When speaking of commitment, we may use the expression of being ‘all in’ indicating that we are not holding back, that all our energies and resources are given to this commitment. Today’s verses about King Hezekiah’s fruitful years include that ‘he did with all his heart’ mindset. This reign is late in the first kingdom of Judah and Hezekiah has done much to restore the love of God, so much so that it is said,

“… every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.”

It is said by God that ‘every work’ undertaken to serve God was in keeping with the way God said to serve, that he was ‘seeking his God’ and it was ‘all in’ with a whole heart. It is not a surprise that with this all said that all he prospered under God.

No holding back, going with all our heart for the Lᴏʀᴅ, keeping to His ways, serving His desires—yes, that’s ALL IN for God.
